(Please note the class assignment function shown in this article should only be used if you are a district in Suffolk County.)
When a child moves to a different classroom with a different ratio than their previous classroom assignment, please follow the steps below. Most importantly, DO NOT end and start a new placement for a ratio change. A ratio change does not warrant such a measure.
1. On the eSTACs page for the student, click "Amend" on the CB placement that needs the classroom ratio change, and select "Amend specific mandate".
2. That should take you to the placement details page as seen below, including the class assignment portion:
3. Click "Edit" on the existing classroom assignment and end the classroom on the day before the change takes place.
4. Enter the information about the new classroom, start it on the day of the change, end it on the original end date of the program, and click "Add".
Your new class assignments section should look something like this. In this example, this student changed from an 8:1:2 classroom to a 10:1:2 classroom on 2/2/2025.
